Senior Accountant

Short Description (Role Purpose)
To support the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, and prepare routine financial reports. The Accountant contributes to maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, and supporting the finance team in daily accounting operations.
Job Accountabilities & Activities
Financial Accounting
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support the preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS or applicable standards.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations under supervision.
Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
• Follow up on unposted transactions and unusual items.
• Assist in cash flow reporting activities.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding banking transactions.
Operational support
• Monitor tenant receivables and review AR aging reports.
• Process and reconcile petty cash transactions.
• Ensure accurate allocation of revenue and expenses to the appropriate property or cost center.
Internal Controls & Compliance
• Follow internal control policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audit requirements by providing documentation.
• Assist in implementing audit recommendations and process improvements.
Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare routine financial reports.
• Assist in variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering and compiling data.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications (SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, CMA) are preferred but not required
Required Years of Experience
2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience
