Short Description (Role Purpose)

Oversee purchasing activities for designated sectors and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. It is also responsible for maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.


Job Accountabilities & Activities

Business Development

  • ensure services at the best prices by using strategic sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of their commodity industry by acting as mentor and referral advisor for similar junior positions in the department.
  • Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.
  • Working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
  • Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.


  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.


  • Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree required (preferably BE/B.Tech)

Required Years of Experience

6 to 7 Years in supply chain procurement.
