Supervisor, Shop

Role Purpose

Co-ordinates with Manager for planning, organizing, directing, and managing all shop related activities and functions. Performs all functional skilled trades includes machining and related tasks.

Job Accountabilities & Activities

•    Working with layouts, able to use all available tools, fixtures, and machines to complete the components.
•    Sets up on all shop machines including lathes, vertical turret lathes, horizontal boring machines, milling and drilling machines, grinders, and other machine tools.
•    Reads and understands the complex engineering blueprints, drawings, or diagrams before starting any job.
•    Trouble shoots on the machining process to achieve quality and improve productivity.
•    Identify new tools, new grade inserts and methods to improve the process and productivity.
•    Monitor and eliminate machine down times.
•    Ensure all components meet customer requirements.
•    Monitor and improve the shop floor quality and productivity.
•    Ensure proper usage of measuring Instruments and maintain the Instruments.
•    Ensures that machinery is functioning properly.
•    Performs routine maintenance on machinery.
•    Calculates and make sure to apply the correct machining cutting parameters, feeds, speeds.
•    Always maintaining the cleanliness of shop floor and Machines. 
•    Follows safety and environmental rules, company policies and procedures in performing duties.
•    Assist in the training of all machinists to improve their process and machining skills.
•    Submit appropriate corrective and preventive actions for non-conformance products and monitor the effectiveness of preventive actions.
•    Attend the production meetings and able to present with production plan, activities, and highlight the issues.

Education & Certifications

Diploma or any Technical school Certificate

4 to 5 years
