Senior Manager, Engineering

Role Purpose
To perform all engineering management functions including Research and Development, Sustaining and Value Engineering tasks.
Job Accountabilities & Activities
Project Management
a. Liaise with project department regarding work schedule plan and manage staff accordingly to maintain previously agreed completion dates are maintained.
b. Keep all relevant and appropriate AMCO parties informed of progress and outcomes. Resolving issues as they become apparent."
Product Design
a. Supervise the preparation of conceptual drawings and layouts based on objectives set by the Engineering Manager, Design Specifications or Industry Requirements.
b. Perform research and analysis of new and existing products to confirm their operational suitability and that they conform to all specified standards.
c. Select materials and processes to achieve cost and performance objectives.
d. Ensure that the transition from prototype to a full production environment is made in a timely and efficient manner.
e. Assist other departments with regard to solving problems associated with the manufacture, procurement and maintenance of quality levels for the products.
f. Assist with the production of Sales and Marketing data providing technical data where required.
Product Testing
a. Supervise the assembly and testing of prototypes and test equipment.
b. Establish the costs associated with the functions and maintain the budget as necessary.
c. Review test schedules, procedures and report outlining all of the appropriate required parameters. Clearly outlining costs and ensure that all dates are maintained.
d. Develop test procedures and provide training to ensuring that all product requirements are met. With attention paid at all times to the compliance of the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) of the various tasks.
e. Obtain and collate all test results and file accordingly to Engineering policy.
Other Duties
a. Provide engineering support and representation for; product sales, field runs, SLS functions and troubleshooting exercises.
b. Communicate with all levels of internal and external personnel as needed providing clear and concise reports.
c. Interface with 3rd party regulatory agencies.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline
