Renewable Energy Engineer

Role Purpose:

leads the engineering aspects of renewable energy project development within the organization. This role is pivotal in driving the technical design, evaluation, and implementation of renewable energy systems, ensuring they align with the organization's sustainability objectives, comply with regulatory standards, and achieve financial effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

• Analyze market trends, technical feasibility, and regulatory conditions to identify potential renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar PV systems.
• Generate Leads by actively exploring market opportunities and build and maintain an opportunities portfolio for new solar PV projects. This involves capturing and evaluating all potential projects from an early stage that leads to ready-to-develop opportunities.
• Perform technical due diligence through conducting comprehensive site evaluations to confirm technical viability and minimize potential risks.
• Perform detailed engineering analyses, including load assessments and system sizing, to optimize project designs. Utilize integration strategies for maximum system efficiency.
• Evaluate and integrate advanced technologies to enhance system efficiency and project performance.
• Oversee all technical aspects of project development, from system planning and component procurement to installation oversight and selection of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors.
• Conduct financial modeling to evaluate the economic viability and potential returns of projects.
• Prepare business cases for top management to support decision-making processes regarding project investments.
• Manage project CAPEX to ensure cost-effectiveness while enhancing financial returns throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all projects adhere to relevant technical standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
• Skillfully negotiate commercial PPA contracts with clients, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial viability.
• Leverage a deep understanding of contract law and commercial negotiations to protect the interests of the organization while fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
• Collaborate with project managers, development teams, finance, legal, and external stakeholders to ensure technical and commercial specifications are clearly understood and implemented.
• Address technical and commercial queries from stakeholders and provide solutions that align with project goals.
• Employ strategic negotiation tactics to secure favorable terms in PPA contracts, aligning them perfectly with the long-term operational and financial goals of the project.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies to secure the necessary technical approvals and permits.
• Generate comprehensive project reports, status updates, and performance metrics to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of project activities, contracts, and communications for accountability and future reference.

Education and Certification Requirements

• Engineering Degree
• 6 to 8 Years Experience
