Manager, Renewable Energy Development

Role Purpose

Responsible for the development of renewable energy projects within the organization. The primary purpose is to strategically identify, assess, and develop renewable energy initiatives that align with the organization's objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance, financial viability, and positive stakeholder engagement.

Job Accountabilities & Activities

Project Development:
•    Identify potential renewable energy project opportunities based on market trends, feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
•    Conduct comprehensive site assessments and due diligence to assess project viability.
•    Analyze financial feasibility, project risks, and potential returns on investment.
•    Lead project development efforts, including site selection, land acquisition, permitting, and project design.
•    Ensure alignment of project goals with organizational objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement:
•    Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, external partners, regulatory authorities, and local communities.
•    Communicate project objectives, progress, and updates to stakeholders at all levels.
•    Address stakeholder concerns and collaborate to find solutions

Financial Analysis:
•    Conduct financial modeling and analysis to evaluate project economics and financial feasibility.
•    Prepare business cases and investment proposals to secure financing from investors, lenders, and funding agencies.
•    Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures.

Regulatory Compliance:
•    Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, permits, and environmental standards.
•    Collaborate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and permits for project development.
•    Mitigate potential regulatory risks and challenges.

Environmental Sustainability:
•    Integrate sustainable practices into project development and execution.
•    Identify opportunities for improving environmental performance and minimizing impacts.

Reporting and Documentation:
•    Prepare comprehensive project reports, status updates, and performance metrics.
•    Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, contracts, and correspondence.

Education & Certifications

•    A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
•    Project Management Professional (PMP)

Required Years of Experience

6-7 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy industry or related fields, with progressive responsibilities in project development, management, and execution.
